Five objectives of Islamic education The five main objectives of Islamic education are:
- Religious objective
- Social objective
- Moral objective
- Scientific objective
- Economic objective
مذہبی یادینی مقصد
اسلامی تعلیم کے مطالعے سے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ شروع سے ہی مذہبی مقصد کو اولیت حاصل رہی ہے۔ ایک مشہور اسلامی مفکر علامہ زرنوجی نے بارہویں صدی عیسوی میں خداوند تعالیٰ کی خوشنودی اور نجات اخروی کو تعلیم کا سب سے بڑا مقصد قرار دیا۔
Religious and Educational Purpose
Studies of Islamic education show that from the very beginning, the religious purpose has been paramount. A famous Islamic thinker, Allama Zarnoji, in the 12th century AD, declared the pleasure of God Almighty and salvation in the afterlife as the greatest purpose of education.
علامہ زرنوجی لکھتے ہیں
علامہ زرنوجی لکھتے ہیں تعلیم کا مقصد خداوند تعالی کی خوشنودی اور اس کی رضا حاصل کرنا اور ابدی حیات حاصل کرنا ہے۔ اخوان الصفا کا قول ہے برادر عزیز جان لے کہ علم کی ہر شاخ اس کے حاصل کرنے والے کیلئے اس وقت تک باعث مذمت اور قیامت میں اس کے خلاف شہادت ہو گی جب تک وہ اس علم کے ذریعے حیات ابدی تلاش نہ کرئے۔
Allama Zarnoji writes
Allama Zarnoji writes that the purpose of education is to please God Almighty and gain His approval and eternal life. The Ikhwan al-Safa say that dear brother, know that every branch of knowledge will be a cause of condemnation for the one who acquires it and will be a witness against him on the Day of Judgment until he seeks eternal life through this knowledge.
علمی مقصد
تاریخ سے ثابت ہے کہ مسلمانوں کی تعلیم کا تصور عام طور پر مذہبی اور علمی تھا۔ لیکن وہ علم کو علم کی خاطر حاصل کرنے کے خلاف نہیں تھے۔ مثلاً علامہ زرنوجی فقہ کی تعلیم کے بارے میں جو عملی زندگی میں کام آنے والا علم ہے لکھتے ہیں فقہ کا علم پڑھنے اور اس کا فہم حاصل کرنے کے سلسلے میں یہ کہنا کافی ہے کہ یہ ( علم ) ذہنی مسرت بخشتا ہے ابن خلدون یہ نے علم کی اقسام بیان کرتے ہوئے ایسے علوم کی بھی نشاندہی کی ہے جو اس کے نزدیک علمی یا نظریاتی ہیں۔
Academic Purpose
It is proven from history that the concept of education of Muslims was generally religious and academic. But they were not against acquiring knowledge for the sake of knowledge. For example, Allama Zarnoji writes about the education of jurisprudence, which is a knowledge that is useful in practical life. In relation to studying the knowledge of jurisprudence and gaining its understanding, it is enough to say that it (knowledge) gives mental pleasure. Ibn Khaldun, while describing the types of knowledge, has also identified such sciences that according to him are academic or theoretical.
معاشرتی مقصد
اسلام میں تعلیم کا ایک اہم مقصد یہ ہے کہ طالب علم خود اپنی ذات کے ساتھ ساتھ معاشرے کیلئے بھی باعث رحمت ثابت ہو اور اپنی معاشرتی ذمہ دایاں بطریق احسن ادا کرنے کے قابل ہو جائے ۔ نبوی تعلیم و تلقین کا ایک اہم مقصد اسلامی معاشرے کو صحت مند بنیادوں پر قائم کرنا تھا۔ تا کہ اس کے افراد باہمی محبت واخوت کے جذبے کے ساتھ معاشرتی ذمہ داریاں بجالائیں۔
Social Objective
One of the main objectives of education in Islam is that the student should be a blessing to himself as well as to society and should be able to fulfill his social responsibilities in a good manner. One of the main objectives of Prophetic education and guidance was to establish Islamic society on a healthy basis. So that its members would fulfill their social responsibilities with a spirit of mutual love and brotherhood.
معاشی مقصد
ابن سینا (۰۸۹ تا 1037ء) نے تعلیم کے معاشی مقصد کی واضح طور پر نشاندہی کی ہے۔ اس نے زور دے کر کہا کہ لڑکوں کو مختلف پیشوں کی تعلیم دی جائے ۔ وہ لکھتا ہے جب لڑکا قرآن مجید پڑھ کے اور عربی زبان اچھی طرح سیکھ لے تو اس کی تعلیم کو اس کے آئندہ پیشے کے مطابق بنانا چاہیے لیکن اس سلسلے میں لڑکے کی قابلیت اور استعداد کا خیال رکھنا ضروری ہے کیونکہ وہ اس پیشے کو اپنائے گا جس کی طرف اس کا فطری رجحان ہے۔
Economic Purpose
Avicenna (089-1037) clearly identified the economic purpose of education. He emphasized that boys should be educated in various professions. He writes that when a boy has read the Holy Quran and learned the Arabic language well, his education should be tailored to his future profession, but in this regard, it is important to take into account the boy’s ability and potential, because he will adopt the profession to which he is naturally inclined.
امام الغزالی
اسے اپنے وہم کی بنا پر فیصلہ نہیں کرنا چاہیے ۔ امام الغزالی (1085ء تا 1111ء) نے بھی روزی کمانے کیلئے عام پیشوں کی تعلیم پر زور دیا۔ اس سلسلے میں رسول کریم ﷺ کی ایک مشہور حدیث کا حوالہ بھی دیا جاتا ہے کہ قیامت کے روز جو لوگ سخت عذاب میں مبتلا ہوں گے ان میں ایک وہ عالم ہو گا جس کا علم کام نہ آیا ۔
Imam Al-Ghazali
He should not make a decision based on his own illusions. Imam Al-Ghazali (1085-1111) also emphasized the need to learn common professions to earn a living. In this regard, a famous hadith of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is also quoted that among those who will be severely punished on the Day of Judgment will be a scholar whose knowledge was of no use.
اخلاقی مقصد
اسلامی اخلاق کا سر چشمہ قرآن حکیم اورنبی کریم ﷺ کا اسوہ حسنہ ہے۔ اسلامی تعلیم میں ایسی اخلاقی تربیت جو معاشرتی نقطہ نگاہ سے اچھی سمجھی جاتی تھی ادب کی اصطلاح سے موسوم تھی۔ ایک عالم نے ادب کی تعریف ان الفاظ میں کی ہے۔ ادب کے معنی سیرت کا ایسا شریفانہ میلان طبع ہے جس کا پورا اظہا انسان کے قول و فعل اور دوسروں کے ساتھ روابط سے ہو۔ یہ ایک ایسا فن اور طرز عمل ہے جو شائستہ بھی ہے اور حالات سے مطابقت بھی رکھتا ہے۔ ادب اخلاقیات سے بڑھ کر ہے۔
Moral Objective
The source of Islamic morality is the Holy Quran and the good example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In Islamic education, such moral training that was considered good from a social point of view was called the term literature. A scholar has defined literature in these words. Literature means such a noble inclination of character, the full expression of which is in a person’s words and actions and relationships with others. It is an art and behavior that is both polite and appropriate to the circumstances. Literature is more than morality.
