تعلیم کا اسلامی مفہوم ⇐ تعلیم عربی زبان کے لفظ علم سے نکلا ہے۔ تعلیم کے لغوی معنی ہیں کسی چیز کے بارے میں بار بار اور کثرت سے خبر دینا تا کہ سننے والے کے ذہن میں وہ بات پوری طرح بیٹھ جائے۔ یعنی طالب علموں کو ایسی تعلیم دی جائے کہ ان کی جملہ صلاحیتوں کی مناسب نشو و نما ہو سکے۔
Islamic meaning of education The word education comes from the Arabic word ilm. The literal meaning of education is to inform about something repeatedly and abundantly so that it becomes fully embedded in the mind of the listener. That is, students should be educated in such a way that their full potential can be properly developed.
علم کی اہمیت
اس سے ظاہر ہے کہ تعلیم میں بچے کو جو کچھ سکھایا جائے اس کا اثر اس کے ذہن، کردار شخصیت اخلاق اور عادات میں نمایاں ہو۔ اسلام نے علم کی اہمیت اور اس کی قدر و قیمت پر جس طرح روشنی ڈالی ہے اس کے حصول کیلئے جس قدر تا کیدر ہے اس کی مثال کسی اور مذہب میں نہیں ملتی ۔

تعلیم کی اہمیت و عظمت قرآن کی روشنی میں
اسلام میں تعلیم دینا اور علم حاصل کرنا دونوں کو فرض قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ حضرت محمد ﷺ پر قرآن پاک کی پہلی آیات ان الفاظ میں نازل ہوئی تھیں۔
اقرا باسم ربك الذی خلق 0 خلق الانسان من علق 0 اقرا وربك الاكرم الذی علم
0 بالقلم 0 علم الانسان مالم يعلم
پڑھ اپنے رب کے نام سے جس نے پیدا کیا انسان کو لوتھڑے سے پڑھا اور تیرا رب کریم ہے۔ وہ جس نے قلم سے تعلیم دی انسان کو ان چیزوں کی تعلیم دی جن کو وہ نہ جانتا تھا۔ (سورہ علق ایک تا پانچ )
The Importance and Greatness of Education in the Light of the Quran
In Islam, both teaching and acquiring knowledge have been made obligatory. The first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in these words.
Read in the name of your Lord who created. He created man from a clot. Read, and your Lord is the Most Generous, who taught.
By the pen. He taught man that which he knew not.
Read in the name of your Lord, who created man from a lump of clay, and your Lord is the Most Generous. He who taught by the pen, taught man that which he knew not. (Surah Al-Alaq 1-5)
قرآن کریم کا پہلا حکم
گو یا قرآن کریم کا پہلا حکم ہی تھا کہ پڑھو اورسیکھو۔ ان آیات کریمہ میں نہ صرف پڑھنے اور لکھنے تعلیم و تعلم کی ضرورت اور اہمیت واضح کی گئی ہے بلک ذرائع علم کی بھی نشاندہی کی گئی ہے۔ علم اور تعلیم کی اہمیت اور فضیلت پر قرآن پا ک اور احادیث نبوی ﷺکے میں جگہ جگہ ارشادات موجود ہیں۔ جن میں علم کی افادیت بھی واضح کر دی گئی ہے۔
The First Commandment of the Holy Quran

ایمان
اللہ تعالی ان لوگوں کے درجے بلند کرے گا جو ایمان لائے اور جنہیں علم دیا گیا۔” (سورۃ النکبوت)
مزید فرمایا گیا
اللہ سے وہی ڈرتے ہیں جنہیں علم بخشا گیا۔ (سورة فاطر )
Faith
Allah will raise the ranks of those who believe and those who have been given knowledge.” (Surah An-Nakabut)
It is further stated
Only those who have been given knowledge fear Allah. (Surah Fatir)
حصول علم اور احادیث نبوی
تحصیل علم کے سلسلے میں چند احادیث نبوی ﷺ کے ملاحظہ ہوں ۔
” جس شخص نے علم کی طلب میں ایک راستہ طے کیا وہ جنت کے راستوں میں سے ایک راستے پر چلا ۔
علم حاصل کرنا ہر مسلمان مرد اور عورت پر فرض ہے۔
علم حاصل کرو چاہے اس کیلئے ملک چین ہی جانا پڑے۔
ماں کی گود سے لے کر قبر کی لحد تک علم حاصل کرو۔
علم حاصل کرنا اور علم کی باتوں کو ذہن نشین کرنا ایک سو غلاموں کو آزاد کرنے سے بہتر ہے۔
عالم کے قلم کی سیاہی شہیدوں کے خون سے بہتر ہے۔
Acquiring Knowledge and Prophetic Hadiths
Here are some hadiths of the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding acquiring knowledge.
- “Whoever follows a path in search of knowledge has followed one of the paths to Paradise.”
- Acquiring knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim man and woman.
- Acquire knowledge even if you have to go to China for it.
- Acquire knowledge from the womb of your mother to the grave.
- Acquiring knowledge and memorizing the things of knowledge is better than freeing a hundred slaves.
- The ink of a scholar’s pen is better than the blood of martyrs.
