پیوندی لکڑی اس درخت سے حاصل کی جائے۔ جو نہایت اعلی قسم کا ہو۔ پھل کی نوعیت اور پیداوار کے لحاظ سے بہترین ہو اور بیماری سے بھی مبرا ہو۔ ایسے درخت کی سابقہ موسم کی چار سے نو ماہ تک عمر کی ایسی شاخیں چن لی جائیں جن پر معمولی سفیدی دھاریاں اور آٹھ سے دس تک پتے ہوں ۔
Method of preparing graft wood
The graft wood should be obtained from a tree that is of very high quality. It should be excellent in terms of fruit quality and yield and should also be free from disease. Branches of the previous season of such a tree, four to nine months old, should be selected which have slight white stripes and eight to ten leaves.
ڈنڈیاں
ان کے اوپر سے لکڑی کا کچھ اتار دیا جائے ۔ چھ سے آٹھ آنکھوں کے اوپر پتوں کو تھوڑی سی ڈنڈی چھوڑ کر کاٹ دیا جائے ۔ دس پندرہ روز کے بعد یہ ڈنڈیاں خود بخود گر جائیں گی اور نیچے سے آنکھیں اُبھر آئیں گی۔ اس وقت یہ پیوندی لکڑی استعمال کرنے کی غرض سے علیحدہ کی جاسکتی ہے۔ پیوندی لکڑی درخت سے کاٹنے کے بعد جتنی جلد ہو سکے استعمال میں لائی جائے۔
Stems
Some of the wood should be removed from their tops. The leaves above six to eight buds should be cut off, leaving a small stalk. After ten to fifteen days, these stems will fall off on their own and buds will emerge from below. At this time, this graft wood can be separated for use. The graft wood should be used as soon as possible after being cut from the tree.

چشمہ چڑھانے کا طریقہ
آم کی پیوندی چشمہ مالٹے اور سنگترے کی طرح(ٹی) طریقہ سے لگایا جائے مگر اس صورت میں لکڑی کا حصہ جو آنکھ کے نیچے ہوتا ہے علیحدہ کر لیا جائے۔ ٹی نما نشان میں چشمہ لگانے کے بعد مومی فیتہ کے ساتھ اچھی طرح سے باندھ دیا جائے تا کہ اس میں ہوا اور پانی داخل نہ ہو سکیں ۔
Method of grafting a bud
A mango grafted bud should be grafted in the same way as a mango or orange, except that in this case the part of the wood below the eye should be removed. After grafting the bud in the T-shaped notch, it should be tied tightly with wax tape so that air and water cannot enter it.
شگاف
ماہ اپریل میں پیوند کے پندرہ دن بعد پیوند کی جگہ سے تقریباً چار انچ اوپر چھلکے میں چاقو سے شگاف دے دینا چاہیے۔ اس کے پندرہ دن بعد اگر آنکھیں سبز ہوگئی ہوں تو شاخ کو چیرے والی جگہ سے بالکل کاٹ دیا جائے ۔ روزانہ دو دفعہ پانی دیا جائے۔ اس کے بعد حسب معمول پانی دیا جائے ۔
Crack
Fifteen days after grafting in the month of April, a crack should be made in the bark about four inches above the grafting site with a knife. After fifteen days, if the eyes have turned green, the branch should be cut completely from the incision site. Water twice daily. After that, water as usual.
پیوندی شاخ
کامیاب پودوں پر جو زائد شافعیں پھوٹ آئیں ۔ انہیں وقتا فوقتا کانتے رہنا چاہیے ۔ ان پودوں کو سخت گرمی اور سخت سردی سے بچانے کے لیے مناسب وقت پر سایہ کر دینا چاہیے۔ یہ بہتر ہوگا کہ گرمیوں کے موسم میں ان کے تنوں پر سفیدی کر دی جائے یا پرانی بوری کے کڑے لپیٹ دیئے جائیں اس کے علاوہ پیوندی شاخ کو کسی لکڑی کا سہارا دے دیا جائے تا کہ آندھی وغیرہ سے ٹوٹنے نہ پائے۔

تیار کردہ پیوندی لکڑی کو اعلیٰ قسم کے پودوں سے اس طرح کا ٹیں کہ قابل استعمال آنکھیں ہر دونوں سروں سے ڈیڑھ انچ کے فاصلہ پر ہوں۔ کاٹی ہوئی لکڑی کے سروں کو ایک ایک سیکنڈ کے لیے پگھلی ہوئی موم میں بھگو کر فورا ٹھنڈے پانی میں ڈبو دیں تا کہ موم جم جائے ۔ خیال رہے کہ پیوندی لکڑیوں کے سروں کو سوا انچ سے زیادہ موم میں نہ ڈبویا جائے ۔ ورنہ نزدیک والی آنکھوں کو نقصان پہنچنے کا احتمال ہے۔
High-quality grafted wood
Prepared grafted wood should be cut from high-quality plants in such a way that the usable eyes are one and a half inches from each end. Soak the ends of the cut wood in melted wax for one second and then immediately immerse them in cold water so that the wax hardens. It should be noted that the ends of the grafted wood should not be immersed in wax for more than one and a half inches. Otherwise, there is a possibility of damage to the nearby eyes.

ایسی تھر موس جس میں چار یا پانچ سیر پانی آسکے موزوں ہو گی ۔ اس میں تقریبا سو پیوندی لکڑیاں آ سکتی ہیں۔ تھوڑی لکڑیوں کے لیے چھوٹی بوتلیں بھی استعمال میں لائی جاسکتی ہیں۔ بوتلوں کو برف جیسے ٹھنڈے پانی سے دو تین دفعہ دھولیں ۔ تاکہ یہ اندر سے کافی ٹھنڈی ہو جائیں۔
Cold Water
A thermos that can hold four or five quarts of water will be suitable. It can hold about a hundred grafted trees. Small bottles can also be used for small trees. Rinse the bottles two or three times with ice-cold water so that they become quite cold inside.
لیتھین
پیوندی لکڑی کو پودوں سے کاٹنے کے بعد پولیتھین کے کپڑے میں لپیٹ کر دونوں سرے باندہ دیں۔ اس طرح پیوندی لکڑی محفوظ بھی ہو جائے گی اور تھر موس یا موم بھی ڈھونڈ نا نہیں پڑے گا۔ بوتل میں صرف ڈیڈھ انچ تک گہرائی میں برف جیسا ٹھنڈا پانی ڈالیں پھر بوتل میں پیوندی لکڑیاں ڈال کر منہ بند کر دیں۔
