نظری و عملی تربیت کا انتظام  ⇐افراد کے انتخاب کے بعد ان کی تربیت کا مرحلہ آتا ہے جو ایک کامیاب استاد بننے کیلئے نہایت اہم کڑی ہے۔ تربیت دو طرح کی ہوتی ہے۔ نظری اور عملی ، نظری (تھیوریٹیکل ) تربیت میں اساتذہ کو اس پیشہ سے متعلق مختلف مضامین پڑھائے جاتے ہیں ، مثلاً تعلیمی نفسیات ، اصول تعلیم، تنظیم مدرسه ، فلسفه و تاریخ تعلیم وغیرہ اور عملی تربیت کے دوران انہیں مختلف مضامین پڑھانے کے طریقے سمجھائے جاتے ہیں اور ان سے عملی طور پر جماعتی تدریس بھی کرائی جاتی ہے ۔

یوں تو دونوں قسم کی تربیت ضروری ہے لیکن عملی تربیت زیادہ اہم ہے۔ اس کے ذریعہ معلم پیشہ تدریس کے اہم عملی پہلوؤں سے واقف ہوتا ہے۔ جس میں درسی مواد کی تیاری ، اسباق کے اقدامات مختلف امانتوں کا استعمال وغیرہ میں مہارت حاصل ہوتی ہے۔

پھر ان معلومات کے اطلاق کے طریقوں پر عمل کر کے اس میں مہارت حاصل کرتا ہے اور یہ اس تربیت کا مہارتی پہلو ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ ایک بہت اہم پہلو اور ہے اور وہ ہے احساساتی پہلو جو ایک استاد میں احساس ذمہ داری، حب الوطنی ملکی تعمیر وترقی کا جذبہ پیدا کرتا ہے اور یہی تربیت کی اصل روح بھی ہے۔
